On Cohen's Quips

Last week, while on Fox13, U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen made a Glenn Close-Fatal Attraction quip about Hillary Clinton and her determination to stay in the Democratic presidential primary race. Of course, his remarks caused a stir among Clinton supporters and he later apologized.
But, as pundits debate feminism and whether women will vote for Barack Obama in the fall, Cohen's quip is not going away. Nightline replayed it last night.
Will it become an issue in the fall? Yep.
The video isn't supported by Nikki Tinker's campaign but the same person who posted it also posted this Tinker ad:
Well, the deck seems stacked against Tinker. Cohen's approval ratings are high--then again, his campaign released the poll.
An excerpt from WREG:Congressman Steve Cohen had to fight the color stigma last time around. One of his competitors said he wasn't the right color to represent Memphis in the U.S. House. It is a tactic he thinks he'll hear again.
And exactly what issues are being focused on by Cohen's image-dropping with Maxine and Isaac?
"I expect that will come up but I think we're seeing it is not going to work," said Congressman Steve Cohen.
Cohen hopes the endorsements of Maxine Smith, Isaac Hays and others will put that argument to bed; that this race will focus on track records and issues.
"It's going to put that kind of campaign tactic into the dustbin of history. We're going to put it behind us in 2008 and move forward."
